Sandra S. Batie is the first holder of the Elton R. Smith Chair in Food and Agricultural Policy. The Chair is dedicated to research, extension and teaching in agricultural and environmental policy issues.
The Elton R. Smith Endowment in Food and Agricultural Policy was established by Michigan State University Department of Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics and the Michigan Farm Bureau to carry on Elton R. Smith’s commitment, leadership, and global vision of policy education and research.
